'IN TERRA INFERI'

Bachelor's Final Collection (2022)

'In Terra Inferi' ('Hell on Earth') is a project aimed at embodying Dante Alighieri's depiction of Hell in the 'Divina Commedia' into the modern fashion landscape.

Alongside the iconography presented in Dante's book, 'In Terra Inferi' draws on the themes, characters and historical events surrounding and influencing the production of Alighieri' s work. Specific attention is devoted to the history of Italian costume and fashion, focusing on the popularity and development of Italian tailoring during the 1980's and its influence regarding the shaping of the new 'masculinities' in the 20th century.

The outcome of the project would represents a new interpretation of tailoring, which deconstructs ad reconstructs its values. The new suit aims to provide a challenging alternative to canonical socio-cultural accepted clothes, for every potential customer.
